Hi, I’m Dr. Laurie Kincade, Founder of Neuro Allies
About Dr. Laurie
I created Neuro Allies because I saw how often families were trying to independently navigate two separate worlds: the clinical system and school system. Private evaluations would provide answers, but those answers didn’t always translate into meaningful support in everyday life. Families were left piecing things together on their own, and they shouldn’t have to.
I’m a dually trained clinical child psychologist and nationally certified school psychologist who understands both clinical and school systems and loves building bridges between them. Serving as a neuroaffirming psychologist in Minnesota, I find that the highlight of my work is helping families find the right support, collaborating with schools and professionals, and being an unwavering advocate in their corner.
With years of experience at public schools, Children’s Minnesota, and Groves Learning Organization (a nonprofit specializing in ADHD and learning differences), I bring a full-spectrum view of what children need and how to help systems respond. There are many psychologists who do evaluations with minimal advocacy, and there are many advocates who do not have clinical licensure; I want to offer our community both. I have been told I speak fluent “kid,” and families have appreciated my bubbly, warm, empathetic, and humorous tendencies.

Diagnostically, my expertise has focused on neurodevelopmental disorders, including attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and learning disorders (e.g., dyslexia, dyscalculia, and dysgraphia). This includes giftedness, twice exceptional (2e), and ADHD/ASD in girls. With training as a school psychologist, the “educational” side of psychoeducational assessments is an area of my expertise, including how to assess learning disorders and how to make appropriate recommendations for school-based services and support.
My calling is to reshape my professional field and to live my passions. I enjoy spending time running, hiking, gardening, and baking. Most of my time is spent with the loves of my life, my husband and two children, doing all of the kid-focused activities. As a parent myself, I hold deep empathy for the questions, concerns, and decisions families face, and I approach this work with genuine care, honoring the importance of each child’s journey.
You don’t have to do this alone. Join me, and let’s walk this path together.
