Neuro Allies | Neuroaffirming Evaluations & Advocacy in Burnsville, MN

Evaluation Process

Dr. Laurie Kincade provides psychological evaluations, psychoeducational evaluations, and independent educational evaluations (IEEs) to children, adolescents, and young adults ages 5 through college. If your child is struggling, and you are hoping to uncover the “why” behind those difficulties, an evaluation may be helpful!

Dr. Laurie Kincade’s expertise has focused on neurodevelopmental disorders, including attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism spectrum disorder (ASD), intellectual disorders, and learning disorders (e.g., dyslexia, dyscalculia, and dysgraphia). This includes giftedness, twice exceptional (2e), and ADHD/ASD in girls. With training as a school psychologist, the “educational” side of psychoeducational assessments is an area of my expertise, including how to assess learning disorders and how to make appropriate recommendations for school-based services and support. Dr. Kincade also offers expertise in mental health diagnoses, including anxiety, depression, OCD, and trauma, and how to tease these things apart from neurodivergence. If you need an evaluation for county services, specific programs (e.g., applied behavior analysis [ABA]) or otherwise, Neuro Allies can also help with that.

1

Contact Us

Contact Neuro Allies by phone 952-855-7727 or e-mail: dr.kincade@neuro-allies.com.

Neuro Allies is happy to provide a free 30-minute consultation to discuss your needs.

2

Complete Intake Paperwork

Complete the intake paperwork via the client portal before your initial clinical interview.

3

Records and Questionnaires

Parents, teachers, and other caregivers complete questionnaires. I will review school records, prior evaluations, and relevant history.

4

Clinical Interview

We meet via telehealth or in person to get to know each other and to allow you to share your child’s journey. Most of this meeting is with the parent, but it also gives your child and me a chance to get acquainted, so they feel more comfortable on testing day.

5

Testing Session

Your child completes individualized activities designed to understand their strengths, challenges, and relevant diagnoses. I complete all of my own testing, so your child will see me, and only me, during the intake appointment and testing session.

6

Report

Results are carefully interpreted and integrated into a comprehensive, yet digestible, report explaining strengths, challenges, diagnoses, and recommendations (including school recommendations).

7

Feedback

We review results together and discuss recommendations, school supports, and next steps for home, school, and private services. If desired and appropriate, a child feedback session can be included.

8

Advocacy

Neuro Allies evaluations include written school-based recommendations and sharing the report with the school. If you need additional advocacy hours, read more about advocacy here.
